Oops...forgot to blog yesterday...........................7/365

Had to work for the big company yesterday.  Took some cold medicine that didn't do much to help me stay lucid while I worked, but instead kept me up until the wee hours of the morning.  Good thing I was in the mood to do some quilting.  Last year I took a class with Joan Wolfran and learned "curved piecing".  Well, I didn't actually learn in the class, in fact I failed miserably at putting three pieces of fabric together.  So I'm working on this wall hanging, thinking it only has a few mellow curves, but no...all curves, all the time.  I was proud of myself though.  I persevered and only had to tear out one short seam where I accidently caught another entirely wrong part of fabric in my seam.  Easy peasy to fix and, if I say so myself, I did a darn fine job with the rest.

Taken wihth flash, colors are much more true.

Taken without flash, colors not as true, but better detail.

I should have made sure it was smoother before I took the photo, but it does lay nice and flat.  I should be done with this in the next couple of days, I'll post when complete.

At about 3:00 my husband looked in on me, asked me to come to bed because he couldn't sleep.  His snoring told another story, but I complied.  This morning when we woke up, he rubbed my arm and told me how much he loved seeing me in my little "nook" that I've set up for sewing, how I looked so content and happy.  He's right.  Quilting takes my brain to another world where I can be creative without hesitation.  This evening my husband called from the CES convention that he is attending and he was, as usual, all sweet and sappy.  Told me again how happy it made him to see me sewing and told me too that he would rather be home with me and Jules than at the convention.  I'm so very blessed.
