All Wound Up! (But in a good way.)

WOW! I had the best workout the other night. Found a beautiful park in Green Valley that has a racquet ball wall backing up to the tennis courts. I had noticed it the first time Jules and I had gone walking there, and I made a mental note to be sure to bring our rackets and balls on our next trip. After about 10 minutes trying to figure out how to turn on the lights, and finding a suitable area in which to anchor Nishi, we were good to go.

I haven't played tennis since I first learned back in community college (25-26 years ago...YIKES!) Julia learned back in middle school, but apparently those lessons didn't stick too well. She spent most of the time retrieving balls that went over the slightly too short wall. Meanwhile, I found my rhythm and discovered that I was able to do this workout for a solid half hour without my back hurting or becoming too winded. Thanks to the walking we've doing...what a difference that small, albeit constant, bit of exercise has made in my life!

Unfortunately, it was about 40 degrees outside and Julia seemed to be coming down with a head cold, so we called it a night. It was by far the BEST workout I've had in years! I was sweaty, but not miserable. In fact, I wish we could have stayed another half hour. I woke up the next morning feeling like a new person!

We're going back again tonight to see if I can reproduce such a wonderful experience all over again. At the very least, at least I'll get out into this beautiful weather and go for a nice walk in a gorgeous park. Must keep my momentum going!
