After I dropped her off, I cruised around what I call "horse country", just off of Las Vegas Blvd., where there was plenty of snow, but it was apparent even this snow wasn't going to stick around too long. I headed up Blue Diamond Highway and before I even got to Mountain's Edge I saw that the entire area was layered in snow that I was sure would be there when Jules got out of school. I pulled over and snapped a couple of shots...
I could hardly wait for school to let out. I knew by then that Julia had figured out that the snow in our area didn't stick. I also knew how excited she would be when I took her up Blue Diamond for some real stuff.
As we made our way up and past Mountain's edge I realized that this snow had also melted, but in the distance, up in the Red Rock Canyon, there was plenty. So, I risked our lives (Blue Diamond is one of THE worst roads in all of Vegas) and we finally happened upon utter and complete beauty, a bunch of newly fallen snow! Yay!
We found a gorgeous canyon just off of the highway....
And I enjoyed taking a few photos of my beautiful daughter...
We beaned each other with a few snowballs, and soon realized that we were becoming soaked to the bone.
At the end of our wonderful adventure we were met by Ralph who had made us a big pot of chicken noodle soup! Could it get any better? I think not.
